Thieves Kitchen Hand Sanitiser

Advertising and marketing businesses are always the first to feel the kick in situations like this. It happened in 2008, same is happening now. Not because advertising and marketing isn’t important, it’s just easier than any other business operation to turn off (and then on again in better times).

So, like many in our field, we’re finding new ways to keep occupied. If you can’t be busy, be useful.

With hand sanitiser as rare as rocking horse shit at the moment, we wondered how difficult it would be to homemake it. Turns out it’s not that difficult at all. A bit of alcohol, a dash of glycerine, a smattering of hydrogen peroxide and a dab of something to make it smell nice.

We’re sending bottles of our homemade ‘Spray & Pray’ hand sanitiser to customers, suppliers and our local community. Its 66% alcohol content is (I’m told) effectively what makes it anti-viral.

If we haven’t been in touch yet to get your home mailing address, do give us a shout at hello@thieveskitchen.co . We’d be delighted to get a free 80ml bottle out to you. When it’s empty, send the bottle back to us and provided we have stock, we’ll refill and send it back to you.

Alternatively, if you would like to have a go at making it yourself, there are some good recipes here and here.

Stay safe, stay home and save lives. Wish you all very well.
